This simple and elegant jewelry cabinet was pieced together from scraps and offcuts from around the shop. I was inspired by the wood itself, and I wanted to showcase the grain with simple lines and classical joinery. The body of the cabinet is constructed with beautiful long straight grained walnut accented by shimmers of sap wood. The door showcases a book-matched cathedral grained walnut panel, highlighting some of my favorite parts of woodworking. Curly maple makes up the interior back panel to lighten the tone to the dark walnut body. To finish it off polished brass hardware and blue suede accent the piece without distracting from the beautiful wood.
